Simply put, what do you believe the differences are between ghost hunting and dabbling in the Occult, if any? This question is not meant to upset any parties, simply to address these areas which I believe are crucial to better understanding. Is ghost hunting opening a veil leading into the spirit world and the Occult? Or is it a mere question of perception? Please chime in and share with us your opinions on this and other topics here on the boards. What do you believe?

I believe the difference between the two is this: Ghost hunters hunt for ghost here in the physical world whereas the occult deals with conjouring up a spirit from the other side.(spirit world, rest of the dead,ect...) People need help in this physical world when having been visited by a spirit. In the past, if you told someone you saw a ghost, they would call you crazy. And there are many things here in the physical we do not yet understand about the spiritual or after life. If all spirits rested in peace, we most likely have no ghost. Let me put it in this way: If you were to consider trying to contact the departed spirit of your uncle Harry, you would have to go to a medium (i.e. physic, channeler, tarot with a crystal ball or fortune teller, ouija board,ect...) which would be considered dabbling into the occult. Now if uncle Harry simply decided to pay you a visit unbeknownst to you, you then could contact RIP to see what Harry wants. The difference being is Harry was not called from his rest from the other side. And to do so for any reason would be fool hardy as we simply cannot control the spirit world here in the physical. Can we then control what Harry's spirit does here in our physical world? Maybe not. But hopes are we can at least to try to establish some form of communication to find out why Harry paid us a visit and what we could do to help Harry on to the other sise to rest. This is simply my opinion-I would love to hear yours as well!
